An APME survey of newsroom leaders across the country asked them whether they were optimistic or pessimistic that newspapers would find ways to be profitable. Nearly two out of three leaders said they were optimistic. How about you? Where do you see the industry headed?
I like to think we'll be fine if we can focus on telling the stories of people in our communities with passion and a sense of connection to regular people. The finances aren't helping, but there are plenty of innovative approaches out there that should carry us into the future. I'm not one who believes the industry is dying. It's changing, but it's not dying.
